Playing Rights & Course Etiquette
Members of Flint Golf Club play golf in accordance with the rules of golf and honor the tradition and integrity of our game. In keeping with honor and tradition, our club prefers to give foursomes the right-of-way. The courtesy of allowing faster groups to play through should be extended to twosomes playing club sanctioned matches. Right-of-way is not required to be given to single players wishing to play through or twosomes not playing a match. However, it is highly recommended that you allow faster groups to play through if there is one clear hole open in front of your group and there is no undue delay. Groups shall not feel obligated to allow multiple twosomes or single players to play through. In addition, it is highly recommended that no such single player or twosome get too close to a foursome for purposes of such foursome feeling obligated to allow you to give up the right-of-way.
Groups Larger Than Four Players
Specific permission of the Golf Professional Staff must be obtained for any group larger than a foursome. Any group larger than four players and on a tee starting a hole, has an obligation to any smaller group on the previous green to let them play through at that moment.
Groups Larger Than Five Players
Any group larger than five players will not be allowed to play from Memorial Day through Labor Day unless specific permission is granted by the Golf Professionals and no other play occurs that day due to foul weather conditions. In any event a single player or group less than four players approach such a large group they shall have the immediate right-of-way.
Single Players & Twosomes
Any single player or twosome does not have the right-of-way to play through any foursome unless a club sanctioned twoball match is in progress. It is highly recommended such single or twosome wait or skip ahead a few holes in the event the course is not crowded and does not affect other regular play or cause delay
